What I do
I work on the Open Doors – Help through Crisis Project! My role as Crisis Intervention Worker offers support to young women aged 16-25, so if you’re struggling with money, need somewhere to live, need help with your benefits then please get in touch!
What I did before
After graduating from University I started working at a community project here in Leeds. I went on to work for Family Service Unit’s Sodasa Project in Bradford, supporting women experiencing domestic violence from BME communities. I took a career break to volunteer facilitating a monthly soup kitchen at a local church (feeding the homeless, asylum seekers, refugees and anyone needing a meal) for PAFRAS Leeds, befriending the elderly for the Royal Voluntary Service. I now still volunteer as part of the Core Team at ToastLoveCoffee (a local pay as you feel café working with The Real Junk Food Project to intercept food waste).
A bit about me
An original Getaway Girl, I grew up in sunny Harehills and I’ve lived in London, Bradford and Sheffield. After spending years away from Leeds I’m really glad to be home! I love art, travelling and reading.
