We’re very proud to launch our new photography exhibition ‘She’s that Leeds Girl’. The young women at Getaway Girls have been working with Leeds based photographer Samantha Toolsie to make positive messages about what it’s like to be a young woman living in Leeds. These messages focus on equality, diversity and empowerment.
This fab exhibition was launched on 18th December and will be showing on the big screen in Millennium Square….so why not stop and have a look next time you’re in the vicinity?
Commenting on the exhibition, Flavia Docherty, director at Getaway Girls said:
We wanted to give young women a voice to promote messages that are important to them and other young women in Leeds. This follows on from our campaign 100 dreams 100 girls focusing on young women’s dreams and aspirations for the future.
Leader of Leeds City Council and Women’s Lives Leeds ambassador, Councillor Judith Blake, commented:
It is fantastic to see Getaway Girls working with girls in Leeds to transform their lives and raise their aspirations, I hope this campaign opens the eyes of many young women and shows them that their dreams and aspirations are achievable.
P.S. Don’t worry if you don’t get chance to see the photos on the big screen (although they do look ace when they’re BIG) as we’ve added them here just for you!
